Reviews

Fluid™ Race Vest is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Function for a Shorter Long Run I love the way this balances capacity along with a pretty minimal profile. It fits well and rides smoothly. A couple more small-bottle-sized pockets or even mount points for add on pockets would be a nice for this to really turn into an all-day vest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fluid Race Vest Overall, this vest works well for the intended purpose. The large pocket on the back of the vest perfectly holds a large smartphone, or small hydration bladder. The additional pockets are appropriately sized for small items like keys and ID. The cross straps are well placed and offer enough adjustment. The small/medium size is snug on a small framed individual.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flatlander I am a runner in South Florida and this vest has worked out great for me. The back of the vest has a breathable mesh that kept me from getting too hot while carrying 1.5 liters of water in the back. The front pouches fit my water bottles perfectly and holds all of my gear snug against my core. I had no chafing problems with this vest and I am pleased with my purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good best for trail run This is exactly what I was looking for. Just wish there is a slightly bigger pocket for the phone. Size does run smaller but fine with me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a Solution for Long Distance Running I've tried running belts, hand-held water bottle holders, and arm bands. Didn't like any of them. The belts chafed or bounced, and I don't like carrying anything in my hands--even my phone. This pack is so light I barely know it's on. It carries two 20oz bottles easily, plus has pockets for my phone, keys, and an energy bar. I wear it even for shorter runs when I'm only carrying my phone. Haven't used the hydration pocket yet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent hydration vest This is a decent product using solid materials and seems well made. No chafing or bouncing during trail runs. The sizing seems a bit snug. I am 5'11" 160# and I sized up to a M/L. A S/M would have been too tight across the chest. Wishlist I hope MH would address in the future: 1. More easily accessible pockets on the back. If I can't access it while I am running than it is wasted space. The smaller lower pocket seems perfect for a phone but it is way too small. 2. Front pockets built for gels, salt tabs, etc. The current pockets are small and hard to access on the run. 3. Make the bottle pockets vertical. The angled pockets make it challenging to get soft flasks in all the way on the move. MH got the fit right and snug but missed the boat laying out the pockets on the vest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great race vest I'm a marathon runner who is training for my first ultra. I bought this vest on advice from a friend who has owned one for several years. This vest fits perfectly. I've run several 6 mile trails with the vest fully loaded (1.5L bladder, gels, phone, keys, ID) and it was very comfortable--no jostling at all. Also it was easy to readjust as the bladder got empty. I am 5'7'', 167lbs, and wear size M shirts. The M/L vest is a perfect fit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Severe disapointment I am beginner long distance runner and looking for my first hydration pack for trail running 5+ miles. My height is 5'7", weight is 155 lbs, I am average Medium size wearer. I can't say my girls are big but not small either. This vest looks very inopropriate, even with adjustment buckles on the very ends. The bottom one goes right under my breasts. The edges of the vest are super scratchy, they irritate me even without moving. The fabric looks somewhat pilled already with all the tabs still attached. I can't even imaging sticking any flasks into the front pockets. I would not recommend this vest to a woman.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Comfy! I love how this vest hugs the torso and pretty much makes me forget that I'm wearing it. I used the zipper pocket for electrolyte capsules and store fuel in the large front pockets. My car keys went in the small back zippered pocket and a 1 liter collapsible bottle went into the large pocket. I also could have used a hydration bladder with a hose in that pocket. 5'2", 117 lbs and the small fits great with a some room left to adjust the straps tighter. Glad to see that the current version has a velcro strap to hold a hydration bladder up. I would recommend this for runners who can get by with 1 1/2 - 2 liters of water during a run (or who can replenish their handhelds with this amount). Plenty of room for fuel but no extra storage for jackets, gloves, etc. Get the other vest for that type of storage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like it's not even there I absolutely love this race vest. The placement on the back makes it feel like it's not even there. Though sometimes it feels like it wants to slip back but after playing with the strap attachment points, you can minimize it. I'm glad they added the bladder attachment strap at the top of the large pocket to keep it from falling down, made a big difference. I get a lot of positive comments on this and impressed many. Holds a 50oz bladder just fine (fully zipped in). I only have a few suggestions on this: Have the front two corded pockets be as deep as the pockets on the Race Vest Pak. These are barely deep enough for my phone and if it's not cinched down, bounces out where as it doesn't on the other. The securing clip for the drink tube could be reversible. On the Race Vest Pak, the tube clips in from the outside, on this it's the other way around, from the inside. After getting use to the other way, having to switch gets annoying when running. Maybe offer an optional drawstring attachment for the eyelets that are already there. Seems odd that the original version had the cord, it's not there now but the eyelets still are.
