Rated 5 out of 5 by BEST SUMMER BAG. BUY TWO! I bought two of these so that I have a baller summer bag always on deck and can throw a cutie in there too if I need to! The square design zips together nicely and you can easily put two sleeping pads inside and zip up and snuggle. Perfect for hot bodies and cold sleepers because you can flip and choose a side!! Q-shield down is water-resistant and packs down small and ultralight! Two bags feels like one and takes up minimal space and will dry out quickly! My only complaint is not compression sack like my zero degree Phantom from Mountain Hardwear!!! WOo! That's a good one too! PRO TIP: Buy TWO and Zip them together and snuggle!! PRO TIP #2: When it's winter and you're using your winter bag, zip these together and use as inside your duvet for an awesome down that is 35 on one side and 50 on the other!!! PRO TIP #3: Zip these together and inset your sleeping pad and have a baller surface everywhere and anywhere you ever need to go! Netflix and chillax on this and make all your friends wish they had been smart enough to pick these up! Even pad your ultralight hammock like a boss!! May 12, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Cold all night Used it in a tent on a 55 degree night outside. I had it flipped to the 35 side and felt cold all night. I sleep sideways, and when you do, the zipper ends up along your back. Since the zipper is not insulated in any way, you get cold drafts coming through. It was also a tighter fit than anticipated. I'm 6'2 200lb. October 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ideal Perfect for the summer temp variations in northwoods or at elevation. Packs super small and light. Temp range used 30 to 70. August 31, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is the best summer weight sleeping bag out there I've had this sleeping bag for about a month and have already used it on three summer trips: weeklong backpacking trip along Lake Superior, weekend long canoe trip on the WI River, and weekend car camping on Lake Michigan. I experienced all kinds of weather/temps during those trips and that's where this bag shines due to the ability to flip it to warmer side or colder side and open it fully and use as a quilt, which I did quite a bit. I really appreciated the two different temp sides when first hitting bed at night, when it was a little warmer and used the 50 degree side, and then transition over to the 35 side when the early morning cold settled in. Never had temps below upper 40s so cannot make any comments on it lowest temp rating...but that's not why I bought it; I have a 10 degree bag I can use in spring and fall, I really only care about it's comfort in summer temps. I did quite a bit of research and was looking at summer bags and quilts from many other companies and this has by far the best cost to weight savings ratio in my opinion. And the ability to flip to different temp sides is a huge bonus! It did get damp a couple of times during rainy, damp nights/mornings and I didn't notice any loss of loft so the wet resistant down seems to work. It does get kinda smelly however when damp, I'm guessing that is the smell of the wet-treated down, noticeable but certainly not a big issue. If looking for a summer bag for use in varying conditions THIS is your bag! August 29, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for my use I paired this sleeping bag with my Thermarest Xtherm, and was able to take it down to 30 degree weather quite comfortably, with no fly on my tent. I think this bag, paired with my Thermarest Xtherm, will be excellent for 3 season weather in the PNW, and can probably take it down another 10 degrees if I layer my clothing properly. I love the flippable temperature ratings of this bag. Almost an all in one. Great job Mountain Hardwear! June 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Light Sleepingbag for a Big Guy I bought this bag because I have a muscular frame with very broad shoulders and have trouble finding quality down sleeping bags which will fit me. this bag is long enough for me...although it doesn't cover my head. I love it because it fits, its warm/light, and unlike other sleeping bags it can be used as a blanket to cover multiple people to increase warmth on cooler than expected nights. For these reasons I think it is an essential bag for travel June 10, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for travel and any conditions above freezing I've used this bag over the course of a week traveling across Iceland in conditions ranging from high 20s in a tent to high 60s in a hostel. It's really hard to stretch below the 35 degree limit of this bag, and I wouldn't recommend it. Even in the mid 30s, the wide top opening makes it a challenge to retain heat, even with the drawstring closure. Wearing extra layers and a hat is definitely a necessity. That said, the versatility of this bag in above-freezing conditions is really why it shines. If you're doing three season backpacking or staying in a hostel, this bag is great. It feels well constructed and soft to the touch. You can unzip it fully and use it as a light quilt in warm temps, and it compresses down to a very manageable size with the included stuff sack. With a compression sack you can squeeze this bag into a package no bigger than a football. I'm 5'11", ~170lbs, and this sleeping bag is spacious and comfortable for me. One minor gripe is that there is no marking on the bag to determine which side is 35 and which is 50. I'm pretty sure the dark side up is for the 35 degree range. Overall I recommend the Down Flip 35/50 for warm(er) weather backpacking and travel. This sleeping bag is a great value and I look forward to getting years of use out of it. May 20, 2015
