Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must have with the Direkt2 I got this along with the Direkt2 and glad I did! Even when I'm by myself I bring it along. It makes a nice area to store my pack, boots and cook meals. Especially to stay out of the wind. Check out the picture of my setup on Mt Hood.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Slooooooow I've had my Direkt2 in some downright awful conditions above 10000' and thought, Now's the time to have a vestibule for gear and cooking. First off, it's a heavy addition. Second, it's a genuine pain to set up, taking nearly twice as long as the tent itself. Additionally, the arch built into the poles adds some extra length which prevents all the poles from being efficiently stored in the same sack. Then, aside from the included stakes in both tent and vestibule being both of poor quality, the guy lines are truly sad. On my first trip out, one of the cords at a stake-out point on the tent snapped. Fortunately I had some extra cord and previously replaced the guy lines with some stouter stuff (the tensioners are great, though). Anyway, aside from weak guy lines, the vestibule only comes with 2, despite needing 4. Thing is, the D2 is a small tent to start with, so on trips where nasty weather is likely the vestibule is a handy addition. However, it's hard to rig in rough weather, heavy, and comes with garbage accoutrement. Some of this would be easier to overlook if the price wasn't so high. When you've already spent close to $600 on a bomber tent, a $150 add-on should be a little smoother and better kitted out. Still a necessary piece but the first piece by MH that I've found to truly disappoint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from makes the direkt 2 more versitle the vestibule makes the direct 2 useable not just as a winter tent but also into spring and fall.I used it during an all night rain on the Ga. AT.It was 40 degrees and would have been a little warm an damp in the tent normaly.I left the tent door completely open all night. It made the tent more spacious and there was no condensation.Great addition to a great tent.
