Kanza™ 55 5 5 6 6
Comfortable and reliable I bought the Kanza for use as my SAR pack, and have been really happy with it. The previous MH pack I had been using for this purpose didn't have any pockets other than the lid, and I wanted something that would allow me to organize my gear better. The outside pocket on the Kanza did the trick. The extra straps help with securing team gear or snowshoes.Fit and comfort have been very good. I bought the large (for the sake of capacity), but wound up buying a medium hipbelt because that fit me better. The pack is made of relatively lightweight fabric, but so far I haven't encountered any durability problems. (But neither have I been dragging it along granite faces.) I do still miss the high-durability fabric on my Dihedral (which of course I still use for other trips), but still I haven't had any rips or tears on the Kanza. February 1, 2013
Sweet pack I climbed mt baker last summer with this pack. It was perfect. Any smaller and it wouldn't have worked though. If you are heavy packer, I'd spring for 60-70 L pack. If you packin light and movin fast, this is the pack. I had around 35-40 lbs in the pack and it felt great. Hiking out of baker I added a nice wet rope to the pack, so I was probably around 50 lbs. for around 5 miles. Pack held up great. December 6, 2012
1st Time Out Awesome pack. Great construction & Fit. Replacing a Lowe Alpine pack at half the weight. 4 day, 3 night trip through the Smokies with plenty of room and comfort. October 18, 2012
Best Pack of my Quiver I have 2 Gregory, a REI Flash and a Gossamer and this is by far my favorite. It carries well without discomfort. You can bend the Stay to get even more airflow on your back. The Brain removes but the top still closes well to keep rain and debris out. Weight is excellent @ 3lbs. I carry around 30lbs. for a 3 day section hike on the AT in GA and hardly notice the load. Great Pack! February 11, 2012
Excellent Light Weight Pack As I have many hobbies I'm extremely happy with the Kanza 55. It's light enough for my 2-3 backcountry fly fishing trips and tough enough to handle my winter backcountry activities. The overall size of the pack is perfect, just enough space to bring the necessary gear. If your looking to simplify your pack or lighten your load this is a great pack to get. June 5, 2011
