With many of our tents, you can create a functional shelter by using just the fly, the tent poles, and a Footprint (our accessory grommeted sheet that normally serves as protection for your tent’s floor). The resulting structure keeps off the rain, provides a fabric floor, and has tremendous ventilation at a fraction of the weight of the complete tent. The Pitch Light option is especially useful for fast-and-light, mild-weather trips. Some tents may require additional pole bindings at intersections and/or webbing support for struts and brow poles. These items are included in the appropriate Footprint package.

Footprint does not match tent bottom The webbing on the footprint is too long to match up with the webbing for the Sprite 1 tent. And the length is NOT adjustable. So the only way to use the footprint WITH the tent is to stake it SEPARATELY which means carrying an extra 6 stakes! The instructions that come along with the footprint are of no help. May 12, 2013

Footprint was sized perfectly I used the footprint with the tent and slipped my sleeping pad between the footprint and the tent floor. This ended the slight issue of slipping off the sleeping pad during the night. One improvement would be better directions for staking out the footprint and the tent. At first, I was unsure which side of the footprint was up and which was down. September 24, 2012

Perfect fit I love the Sprite tent, and having the footprint to fit is awesome. The tent and poles fit right into the grommets on the footprint, which makes it super easy to set up. And if you're going light, the rain fly and footprint fit nicely together. I'm very happy with the footprint and tent itself! June 12, 2012

Importaince of a Rootprint A footprint is worth the money. Let it bear the wear and tear from rocks and twigs. It will be much cheaper to replace it than the tent. Mountain Hardware did a great job of getting this to me in time for my trip. My only complaint is what I think is lack of instructions on how to best use the loops and rings to attach the footprint to the ground. July 3, 2011
