GREAT FIT I USE IT TO HIKE UP TO THE GLACIER AND KEEP MY EARS WARM AND SUN OUT OF MY EYES. THEN IT FITS GREAT UNDER MY HELMUT FOR ADDITIONAL EAR AND HEAD WARMTH. RECOMMEND IT FOR LONG HIKES AND CLIMBING February 11, 2013

Not a cold weather hat It looks heavy made by the picture but that is very decieving. It was around -1 degrees here the day it arrived and it was low wind(5-10mph). It blew through it like it was a 1980's mesh t-shirt. The general apperance and craftsmanship are fine just dont buy it to wear it in cold weather for exended periods of time w/o a backup plan. Great mountaineering hat Perfect lightweight, packable and warm hat for cold weather days in the mountains. The earflaps fold out of the way when you don't want them, but keep your ears nice and toasty when the winds come up, all in a compact package. The new-style brim is less functional than last year, being flexible foam, rather than a moldable piece of wire, which allowed the brim to stay in place when the conditions get worse. Black is also not black; it's black and grey. Overall, a good choice for all conditions in the mountains. November 3, 2012
