MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR’S SPRING 2014 LINE IS AWARDED MULTIPLE INDUSTRY HONORS
RICHMOND, CALIF. (Aug. 20, 2013) – Mountain Hardwear, Inc., a leader in innovative, premium outdoor apparel, equipment and accessories, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Columbia Sportswear Company (Nasdaq:COLM), has been lauded by outdoor industry insiders for its innovation as it launches its Spring 2014 line.
Mountain Hardwear’s Optic 2.5 tent received Best in Show honors from GearJunkie.com at this month’s Outdoor Retailer Summer Market tradeshow in Salt Lake City. The Optic 2.5 tent was singled out among more than 1,000 brands exhibiting at Outdoor Retailer as one of the “best new gear on the planet”. GearJunkie.com editors praised the Optic 2.5 tent for its “why didn’t we think of this before” design featuring open architecture.
With two large adjacent doors that open for a wide angle 180° view, the Optic Tent 2.5 (MSRP $240) allows for an expansive, panoramic view from your home away from home. Weighing only 5lbs.13oz, this freestanding tent has a roomy layout designed for 2.5 people and welcomes smaller companions or extra gear.
Earlier this summer at the OutDoor Show in Friedrichshafen, Germany, Mountain Hardwear’s South Col 70 OutDry pack received an OutDoor INDUSTRY AWARD. Of the 316 entries submitted, from 27 different countries, the South Col 70 OutDry was selected as one of 52 products worthy of the award.
The first pack of its kind, the South Col 70 OutDry (MSRP $300) is the one-pack solution for mountaineering expeditions on the world’s highest peaks. OutDry technology bonds a durable waterproof membrane directly to the shell fabric for a completely sealed interface so the pack stays light and dry without compromising weight or function.
