Mountain Hardwear has simultaneously launched a new Mobile e-commerce website. Joining the select ranks of retail brands who offer Mobile e-commerce, Mountain Hardwear is among the first to optimize its consumer blog for the Mobile site. “Latest projections show that mobile web traffic will surpass desktop traffic within 5 years, and we are thrilled to be ahead of the curve to better serve our consumer,” said Dustin Clark, the company’s web manager.

In an effort to reduce the environmental impact of their ecommerce order, customers have the option to request shipment in a reused cardboard box using A Box Life™, a program developed and introduced one year ago by Columbia.com, Mountain Hardwear’s parent company. Since inception, 66% of Columbia.com consumers have chosen to have their purchases shipped in a used box. One can see where a cardboard box has travelled by scanning a Quick Response (QR) sticker located on the box. Tracking a unique box’s path on www.aboxlife.com provides information such as the number of miles travelled, number of participants and the number of boxes saved. MountainHardwear.com is also reducing shipping material waste by using poly bags that are recyclable or reusable and signature to the Mountain Hardwear brand.
